The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) is an annual competition in astronomy and astrophysics for young people worldwide to strengthen ties between different nations and promote the exchange knowledge from one of the twelve International Science Olympiads. The 19th IOAA will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from 26 September to 8 October 2026.

IOAA 2026 is jointly organised by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, and Phenikaa University - the official host venue of the event. Situated in the vibrant capital city, Phenikaa University provides modern academic facilities and an inspiring environment for future astronomers to compete, learn, and connect.

The organisation and successful hosting of the 19th IOAA are supported by Vietnamese educational authorities and national partners committed to fostering scientific excellence, nurturing talent in STEM fields, and promoting international academic collaboration.

In 2026, IOAA travels to Hanoi, Vietnam, continuing its mission of connecting young astronomers and educators from all over the world under one sky.
